This is the first Global Report of its kind and spotlights the power of culture as a strategic asset for creating cities that are more inclusive, creative and sustainable.
To promote the launch of the Report at the Habitat III Conference in Quito Ecuador, I secured collaboration with National Geographic photographer REZA for use of images in the report. Advised on quality control of communication tools for the launch of the report.

Created and implemented the Communications Strategy for this biennial Report, the first of its kind, tracking the implementation of the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (UNESCO). Advisor on communications and media for the 2005 Convention activities.
Created and implemented the Communications Strategy for this high profile global event held in Incheon, Korea, attended by 1,500 people, including the President of the Republic of Korea, UN Secretary General Ban ki Moon, President of the World Bank, Jim Kim and Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser al-Missned of Qatar. Wrote the press releases for the event, liaised with six World Education Forum Co-Convenors , Korean Ministry of Information officials and organised VIP press conferences, liaised with local and international media at the event and created plans for social media marketing.
Liased with Project Everyone on the launch of the Worlds Largest Lesson initiative at WEF. The project is headed by acclaimed UK Film Director Richard Curtis.
The event was organised to build a new education agenda to transform lives and resulted in the Incheon Declaration
Organised and oversaw the logistics team for the global launch of the Global Monitoring Report in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 2014 and regional launch in Islamabad in Pakistan for the report Teaching and Learning Achieving: Quality for All. Liaised with the Ministries of Education and organised and confirmed speakers for the main and side events and scripted the event. Liaised with media for coverage of the event which attracted more than 1,000 media articles. Special guests included the Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia and the former teacher of Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai. Organised a press conference after the launch event and oversaw multi-media coverage of the event. Managed a team of people to oversee a regional launch event in Pakistan.
Created and implemented the Communications Strategy for this large scale event held in Chad with high level Government representation from Sudan , Central African Republic, Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger, Kenya and Sierra Leone.

Organised the visit of Hollywood Actress, Mia Farrow, to Chad to highlight the need to prevent the spread of Polio - and in Cameroon on the issue of stopping child malnutrition. I liaised with local and international media to secure interviews and provided multi-media content on the visits for the website.
Managed the digital communications for the United Nations Political Office for Somalia (UNPOS). The office was responsible for facilitating the political process which led to the formation of a new Government in 2012. Writing news stories, filming short videos and uploading them to the UNPOS website, managing the UNPOS twitter account and increasing its influence but attracting new followers. Preparing statements for the UN Special Representative of the Secretary General to Somalia and overseeing media interviews.
Ensured quality control of the production of a series of television programmes and radio debates and drama aimed at promoting discussions between the Somali people and politicians.
In collaboration with graphic designers produced the UNPOS quarterly magazine May 2013 & November 2012.

Writer, Producer and Co-Director of this UN documentary which looks at Women’s Rights in Afghanistan after the fall of the Taliban. This film was screened at the Raindance Film Festival in London 2008 and at the Burbank Film Festival in Los Angeles in 2009. This film was produced with former BBC Correspondent Paul Anderson.
